Soccer Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Abingdon's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Abingdon's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Lee Generals an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Abingdon, who have now won four matches by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Lee with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Elizabeth Nichols (4), Emma Hamilton (2), Annsley Trivette, and Ashlyn Wise.

Abingdon has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those five contests. As for Lee, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Lee didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 4-0 win against Ridgeview on the 25th. Hopefully Abingdon paid attention to the Generals' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
