It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Lathrop Spartans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Foothill at home to the tune of 47-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lathrop.
Lathrop got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andre Muqhar out in front who rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Julio Garcia was another key contributor, rushing for 73 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
Lathrop has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 8-4 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points per game. As for Foothill, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Lathrop will head out on the road to face off against Casa Roble at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Casa Roble's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six matchups. Foothill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
