The Oasis Sharks's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Donahue Catholic Shamrocks at 5:30 p.m. on December 11th. Oasis comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 43-3, which was the final score in Oasis' tilt against Bonita Springs on Thursday. Oasis was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-2.
Meanwhile, Donahue Catholic had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 44 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They snuck past Archbishop McCarthy with a 45-39 victory.
Veronica Halisky had a dynamite game for Donahue Catholic, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds.
The losses dropped Oasis to 0-3-1 and Bonita Springs to 2-3.
Everything came up roses for Oasis against Donahue Catholic in their previous matchup back in January of 2020 as the team secured a 57-30 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Donahue Catholic's Faith Giovine, who scored 16 points. Now that she won't be playing on Monday, will it be that much easier for Oasis to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
