Audrey McKenna put forth a good effort for the losing side as she shot 63% from the field en route to 14 points and six rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Addie Hiatt, who posted six points and seven boards.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Middleton). They breezed past Ridgevue to the tune of 91-20 on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won eight contests in a row.
Owyhee better focus on containing Olivia Blackwell and Zoey Blackwell as the pair were huge in Middleton's win. Olivia went 7-for-10 on her way to 20 points, while Zoey shot 50% from the field to rack up 13 points and six steals. That's the most points Olivia has posted since back in February of 2025. Megan Stewart was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Middleton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 29 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Middleton's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Owyhee, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Owyhee has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Middleton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Owyhee beat Middleton 50-38 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Storm since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
