The Clarion Area Bobcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Greenville Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Clarion Area had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Karns City on Monday. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Gremlins with a sharp 14-4 win. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Gremlins recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Dylan Smail was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Clarion Area got a massive performance out of Noah Harrison, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Harrison has posted since back in May of 2024. Wyatt Watterson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Clarion Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Greenville strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over Sharpsville. Considering the Trojans have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Justin Schell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Schell was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Csonka, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brandon Stubert, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Greenville's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Clarion Area, their record is now 3-1.
