First Colonial and Ocean Lakes are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Patriots will face off against the Dolphins at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with First Colonial sitting on nine straight wins and Ocean Lakes on four.

Last Thursday, First Colonial was able to grind out a solid victory over Tallwood, taking the game 6-1.

Meanwhile, Ocean Lakes never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Green Run. The Dolphins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Ocean Lakes got a great performance from Aiden Skalski as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Skalski has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Ryan Gocio was excellent, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ben Menenses, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

First Colonial pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Ocean Lakes, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

First Colonial was able to grind out a solid victory over Ocean Lakes in their previous matchup back in March, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
