Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Greenwood Bulldogs walked away with it. They took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 56-26 win over the Bruins. The win was just business as usual for Greenwood, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
Greenwood found their leader in underclassman Kane Archer, who threw for 198 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Archer has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lj Robins, who picked up 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Greenwood's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. Pulaski Academy's QB won't forget Cash Archer anytime soon given Archer sacked him three times.
Pulaski Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Brandon Cobb and Walden Culpepper. Cobb rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns, while Culpepper picked up 198 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Culpepper's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
Greenwood's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Pulaski Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Greenwood will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Little Rock Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. One thing working in Little Rock Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten matchups. Pulaski Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
