The West Field Longhorns will take on the Clearfield Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Field is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
On Tuesday, West Field beat Fremont 6-2.
Brinklee Hadley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, West Field's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Koford, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Clearfield earned a 9-6 victory over Roy on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won four in a row.
Clearfield let Addyson Haddock and Emma Dishongh run wild. Haddock went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Dishongh went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Haddock has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Skylar Davis, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.
West Field's record is now 16-4. As for Clearfield, their record now sits at 15-5.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Field hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .412. However, it's not like Clearfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .393. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went West Field's way against Clearfield in their previous meeting on April 9th, as West Field made off with a 10-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
