Blackville-Hilda is 2-8 against the Vikings since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Denmark-Olar Vikings at 8:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Blackville-Hilda scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 77-64 victory over Wagener-Salley.
Blackville-Hilda got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Messiah Mcfadden out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. Mcfadden hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Arkel Thomas, who scored 19 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Denmark-Olar didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Blue Devils on Friday, but they still walked away with a 56-51 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Denmark-Olar.
Treveon Hinton was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tykeen Ross, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.
Blackville-Hilda's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12. As for Denmark-Olar, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Blackville-Hilda hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 57.1 points per game. However, it's not like Denmark-Olar struggles in that department as they've been averaging 63.2 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
