The Center Roughriders came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to Pine Tree for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-42 win at home. Center might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five contests by 21 points or more this season.
Center was led to victory by Gabby Whisenant and Lanaijha Johnson. Whisenant scored 19 points, while Johnson dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. The game was Johnson's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Ciara Jones was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 3 steals.
Center pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Pine Tree, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.
Center will take on Beckville at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday. Pine Tree will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carthage at 12:30 p.m. on December 9th.
