Basketball Recap: Henry Peprah Key Part of a Team Effort in Patriots Win

There's no place like home for Piedmont Community Charter, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 77-54 margin over the Valor Preparatory Academy Owls on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Piedmont Community Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Henry Peprah, who went 7 for 15 en route to 16 points along with eight steals and six boards. The game was Peprah's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of John Carmichael, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 20 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Piedmont Community Charter was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The win got Piedmont Community Charter back to even at 9-9. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piedmont Community Charter has already played their next contest (against Jackson Day), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Valor Preparatory Academy will take on Queen's Grant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Queen's Grant has three straight victories, Valor Preparatory Academy has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
