The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. On Friday Algona will take on Crestwood at 7:00 PM. Algona strut in flaunting some offensive muscle with an average of 43.78 points per game.
It's was a good run, but Algona finally witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak. They and Southeast Valley were almost perfectly matched up last Friday, but they suffered an agonizing 41-42 defeat. Things were expected to be close, but in this case the state rankings mixed up the winning team.
Meanwhile, Crestwood might be getting used to good results now that the squad has five wins in a row. They enjoyed a cozy 33-13 victory over Forest City.
Crestwood's win lifted them to 6-3 while Algona's loss dropped them down to 8-1. We'll see if Crestwood can repeat their recent success or if Algona bounce back and reverse their fortune.
