McCreary Central has gone 8-1 against Scott recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. McCreary Central will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Barbourville on Thursday. The Raiders put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 20-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.
Carter Gabbard made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gabbard was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Nathan Taylor looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Mason Bryant and Jayden Watts did most of the damage at the plate: Bryant got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one double, while Watts went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Bryant has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolton Summers, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
McCreary Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Scott's offense. They came up short against Gibbs on Monday, falling 25-0. The Highlanders just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
McCreary Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Scott, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
McCreary Central got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Scott by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Highlanders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
