The West Point Pointers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gloucester Dukes at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Friday, West Point ended up a good deal behind King & Queen Central and lost 41-27. West Point has not had much luck with King & Queen Central recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Gloucester took a serious blow against Hampton on Friday, falling 77-16. While losing is never fun, Gloucester can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Hampton is ranked 43rd).
West Point's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Gloucester, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
West Point suffered a grim 49-23 defeat to Gloucester in their previous meeting back in January of 2015. Can West Point avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
