Basketball Recap: Cresset Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Cresset Christian Academy played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights 69-31. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Cresset Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Mario Jarrett, who posted 16 points. The game was Jarrett's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cole Davis, who scored seven points.

North Raleigh Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brennen Jefferson out in front who went 8 of 14 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. Jefferson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Dickerson, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points and three steals.

Cresset Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cresset Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lee Christian at 8:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. North Raleigh Christian Academy will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Metrolina Christian Academy at 2:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
