A.C. Flora is 8-2 against Westwood since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The A.C. Flora Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Westwood Redhawks at 7:30 p.m. A.C. Flora knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully Westwood likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, A.C. Flora faced Ridge View in a battle between two of the state's top teams. A.C. Flora received a tough blow as they fell 71-57 to Ridge View. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Westwood came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 60-52 victory over Richland Northeast. Given Westwood's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while Richland Northeast is ranked 60th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
A.C. Flora's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4. As for Westwood, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
A.C. Flora came up short against Westwood in their previous matchup on January 5th, falling 72-59. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Westwood's TJ Bell, who scored 23 points along with eight steals. Now that A.C. Flora knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
