With a playoff game on the line, the Toombs County Bulldogs rose to the challenge on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 64-6 victory over Southwest at home. The result was nothing new for Toombs County, who have now won seven matches by 35 points or more so far this season.
Dabvn Wadley was on fire: he rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry. Tj Stanley was another key contributor, throwing for 201 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes.
The win (which was Toombs County's third in a row) raised their record to 10-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41 points. As for Southwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Toombs County will head out on the road to face off against Thomson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Thomson is on a six-game streak of home wins, Toombs County a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Southwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
