Coweta got a good showing from Landon Fisher, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Fisher has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Coweta saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sutter Winsworth, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Wagoner came out on top against Miami on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Wardogs.
Kolby Gardenhire tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Wagoner is 4-1 when Gardenhire allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-9 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Stavery James was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Wagoner's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 3-1 (and 7-9 when he doesn't). Eli Hopping was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Wagoner always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami only posted an OBP of .259.
The victory got Wagoner back to even at 10-10. As for Coweta, their loss dropped their record down to 16-14.
