WINTERS, Calif. -
Winters (Calif.) snapped the four-game winning streak of
Durham (Calif.), with a 21-6 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the second quarter, the Warriors were up 6-0 at the half.
Winters expanded its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. WHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Lowrie.
Durham's lone touchdown came on a 45-yard pass from
Josh Heath to
Ryley Haugh in the fourth quarter.
The Warriors entered the contest giving up 27.6 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding the Trojans well below their season average of 32.3 points scored per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Durham, which notched a 37-7 victory over Pierce in its previous outing.
