The Palmer Terrors had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-40 victory over Liberty. Given Palmer's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Liberty is ranked 197th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Palmer's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kohen Collins, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Collins hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Jackson Weber was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Several Lancers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evan Trinidad, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of London Praytor, who scored six points along with 12 blocks and eight rebounds.
Liberty struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Palmer pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
Palmer's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Liberty, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Palmer will head out on the road to face off against Harrison at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Harrison will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Liberty will take on Discovery Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Discovery Canyon will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
