Glassboro was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Highland Regional. The Bulldogs came in at 20 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
Penns Grove extended the longest winning streak in West Jersey - Diamond this week by beating Schalick, 60-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Glassboro's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Michael Gillespie threw for 79 and one touchdown and Tony Colon had 40 yards receiving. On the ground Corey Clement chipped in 227 yards. Juwan Johnson helped Glassboro's passing attack out by catching three balls for 39 yards.
Penns Grove's Nick Elmer and Jabrail Murray have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Elmer has thrown for 707 yards this season, while Murray, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 13 catches for 293 yards. Mark Maccarone's team's Clement leads the league in rushing yards with 1469.
