Timberline can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game two weeks ago. They were the clear victor by a 46-25 margin over Centennial. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Timberline has posted since December 2, 2023.
Timberline found their leader in underclassman Alexis Moore, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Moore posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Mertes, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain faced Middleton in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Rocky Mountain fell to Middleton 59-53. The contest was a 24-24 toss-up at halftime, but Rocky Mountain was outscored by Middleton in the second.
Anna Dabell put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 15 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Averee Osterhout was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
Timberline is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Rocky Mountain, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.
Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's contest: Timberline have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 5.4 threes per game. It's a different story for Rocky Mountain, though, as they've been averaging only 4.5 threes per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
