Highland (Gilbert, Ariz.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat
Skyline (Mesa, Ariz.), 28-0, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Ray Barry touchdown run in the first quarter, the Hawks led 14-0 at the half.
Highland expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Hunter Clancy touchdown run.
The Gilbert school's standout player in the win was
Grant Gale. The junior ran for one touchdown. He has now scored one touchdowns on the season.
The Hawks came into the game allowing 16.0 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 20-13 win for Highland.
The win was a nice bounce back for HHS, which lost to Basha last week, 21-17.
Highland (4-2) will play a non-conference game against Desert Mountain next week, while Skyline (3-3) will take on Telesis Prep also in a non-conference game.
