Fleming Island found their leader in underclassman Carson Crawford, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Crawford has scored at least 25% of Fleming Island's points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Robinson, who scored 7 points.
When it comes to explaining why The First Academy lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Julian Anderson. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with 9 rebounds. Anderson scored a full 37% of The First Academy's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cory Mcpherson, who scored 10 points along with 4 steals.
Fleming Island's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for The First Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fleming Island will take on Tocoi Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tocoi Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 185 points over their last three games. As for The First Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lake Gibson at 8:00 p.m.
