The Samuell Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Seagoville Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Samuell is hoping to put an end to a 16-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Samuell suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Poteet 65-4. While losing is never fun, Samuell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1590th, while Poteet is ranked 450th).
Meanwhile, after only 25 points in their last match, Seagoville made sure to put some points up on the board against Conrad on Friday. Seagoville came out on top against Conrad by a score of 55-43.
Seagoville can attribute much of their success to Jai White, who scored 21 points. Antaijha Brown was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Samuell's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Seagoville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.
Samuell was dealt a bruising 50-12 loss at the hands of Seagoville in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Samuell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
