The North Buncombe Black Hawks lost to the Erwin Warriors back in February of 2023, but the North Buncombe Black Hawks didn't allow the Erwin Warriors the same satisfaction on Tuesday. North Buncombe walked away with a 51-38 win over Erwin. The win made it back-to-back wins for North Buncombe.
North Buncombe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lily Metcalf led the charge by scoring eight points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Whitson, who scored ten points along with two steals.
North Buncombe's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Erwin, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.
North Buncombe will be playing in front of their home fans against Asheville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Asheville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for Erwin, they will head out on the road to face off against T.C. Roberson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. T.C. Roberson is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
