The Cypress Creek Bears had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 47-35 victory over Freedom. For Cypress Creek, this counts as revenge for the 42-27 defeat Freedom walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Cypress Creek got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Timberlyn Campbell out in front who scored ten points along with seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Melanie Contreras, who scored 14 points.
Cypress Creek pushed their record up to 7-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Freedom, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cypress Creek on the road again on Thursday and play against Jones at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Jones will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 489th, while Cypress Creek is ranked 237th). As for Freedom, they will head out on the road to face off against Ocoee at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ocoee is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
