Bradshaw Christian had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-12-1 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Rosemont Wolverines 14-13. The Pride's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kaylee Hand was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and ten unearned) runs off ten hits. Hand was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Avery Slater was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ava Clarida, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Bradshaw Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
As for Rosemont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-19-1 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.
On Rosemont's side, Talia Adams put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits Adams has allowed since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Jalaya Cozart made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Gabriyanna Vegafria was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
As of now, neither Bradshaw Christian nor Rosemont have any future games scheduled.
