West Craven gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the East Carteret Mariners with a sharp 60-38 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, East Carteret still got an impressive performance from Sophia Baker, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Taeya Stanley, who earned seven points.

East Carteret is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, West Craven is taking a road trip to square off against New Bern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Carteret, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-13 defeat against Croatan on the 3rd.
