After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverside Prep, University Prep was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Academy for Academic Excellence Knights as they made off with a 15-0 win. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.
Not much got past Breezy (Briseis) Vargas, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Academy for Academic Excellence off the board.
At the plate, Paityn Zimmerman was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brie (Brieana) Villanueva, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
University Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
University Prep is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games.
