After flying high against the Eldorado Sundevils last Tuesday, the Bonanza Bengals came back down to earth. Bonanza had to suffer through a rough 49-12 loss at the hands of Somerset Academy Losee. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bonanza has scored all season.
Among those leading the charge was Arianna Johnson, who scored 29 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jayla Lewis, who scored 14 points.
Bonanza's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for Somerset Academy Losee, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonanza will take on Amplus Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amplus Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Somerset Academy Losee, they will head out on the road to take on Southeast Career Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Southeast Career Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Friday.
