Gage Mintken continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hay Springs, scoring 24 points along with four steals. The matchup was Mintken's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Young, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Oelrichs bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.0 points per game. As for Hay Springs, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oelrichs will take on Hot Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hay Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Leyton on Saturday. Leyton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 201st, while Hay Springs is ranked 63rd).
