The Vestaburg Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 42-19 loss at the hands of Merrill. Vestaburg was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Merrill apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Even though they lost, Vestaburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Vestaburg's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Merrill, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vestaburg will take on Fulton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fulton is coming into the match with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Vestaburg will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Merrill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Breckenridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Merrill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
