Basketball Recap: Jahyria Dillard Key Part of a Team Effort in Jaguars Win

Gadsden County lost to FAMU DRS back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The stars were shining brightly for the Gadsden County Jaguars in a 36-22 win over the FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Gadsden County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jahyria Dillard out in front who posted 14 points in addition to six boards and six steals. With that strong performance, Dillard is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Khyla Robinson, who put up eight points and nine steals.

Gadsden County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since the start of last season.

Gadsden County's record is now 3-4. As for FAMU DRS, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

When Gadsden County and FAMU DRS next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Gadsden County will try to stop North Florida Christian's three-game winning streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Similarly, FAMU DRS will try to stop Raines' three-game winning streak when the meet at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
