Amherst County has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will  face off against the Glass Hilltoppers at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Glass took a loss in their last  contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Amherst County, who comes in off a win.
 Even though Amherst County has not done well against Liberty Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way  on Tuesday. Amherst County escaped with a win against Liberty Christian by the margin of a single free throw,  51-50. The  victory was just what Amherst County needed coming off of a  60-40 loss in their prior  match.
 Amherst County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Jayden Black, who  scored ten points along with seven  steals and five  rebounds.  Jaion Morris was another key contributor,  scoring 14 points along with three  steals.
 While Glass couldn't quite beat Virginia Episcopal School on Thursday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 20-point  defeat they were dealt  on Friday. Glass fell just short of Virginia Episcopal School by a score of  52-50. Glass just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
 Amherst County's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Glass, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
 Amherst County might still be hurting after the  67-43 loss they got from Glass  in their previous matchup  back in December of 2023. Can Amherst County avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
