Charlottesville and Albemarle are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Charlottesville Black Knights will be playing at home against the Albemarle Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Charlottesville's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Charlottesville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 25 points or more this season. They breezed by Orange County at home to the tune of 73-44. Charlottesville's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Albemarle earned a 44-36 victory over Louisa County on Tuesday. The win was just what Albemarle needed coming off of a 49-25 loss in their prior contest.
Charlottesville pushed their record up to 5-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Albemarle, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Everything came up roses for Charlottesville against Albemarle in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 60-29 win. Does Charlottesville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Albemarle turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
