A Region V recap November 5, 2013
Allendale-Fairfax added to the longest winning streak in A Region V this week by beating Whale Branch, 38-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Tigers.
Branchville took down Bethune-Bowman 44-16 last week, the largest margin of any game. Patrick Strange ran for 160 yards in the win.
Estill's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alex Taylor threw for 21 and 1 touchdown and DeAngelo Bryant had 21 yards receiving. On the ground Jarvis Singleton contributed 169 yards.
The Fighting Gators' dynamic duo of Taylor and Bryant proved tough for River Bluff to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Legend Brown was a key player and the best on defense this week as Estill topped the Gators. The 6-foot-0 junior pulled down 1 interception.
Singleton provided a threat through the air and on the ground as J.C Threatt's team defeated River Bluff. Singleton's favorite target this week was Bryant, who caught 2 passes for 21 yards.
Denmark-Olar's Ricco Parler and Kennth Butler have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Parler has thrown for 762 yards this season, while Butler has 7 catches for 265 yards. Singleton from the Fighting Gators leads the league in rushing with 1,231 yards.
The Vikings and North played the closest game in the league this week, with the Vikings eventually emerging with a 12-6 victory.
