The Serra Cavaliers and the Servite Friars squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Serra Cavaliers had to settle for second. Serra fell 28-20 to Servite. Serra's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Serra's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jimmy Butler, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 194 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Camron Harris-willcot, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown.
Servite can attribute much of their success to Quaid Carr, who rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Carr was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards. Aidan O'callaghan also helped out with an impressive 86 receiving yards.
Serra's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Servite, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Serra does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Servite will head out on the road to face off against Mission Viejo at 7:00 p.m. on November 25th. Mission Viejo has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 217 points over their last five contests.
