Rossview and Clarksville are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Rossview Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Clarksville Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Rossview's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Clarksville has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Rossview posted their biggest win yet this season last Friday. They breezed by Northeast at home to the tune of 86-32. With Rossview ahead 51-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.
It was another big night for Landon Hankemeier, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Quamond Linsey, who scored eight points along with seven assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, even though Dickson County scored an imposing 59 points on Thursday, Clarksville still came out on top. Clarksville escaped with a win against Dickson County by the margin of a single free throw, 60-59.
Kellen Howard continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sheldon Huber, who scored eight points along with three steals and two blocks.
Rossview has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Clarksville, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Rossview have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 25 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Clarksville, though, as they've been averaging only 3.3 rebounds per game. Given Rossview's sizeable advantage in that area, Clarksville will need to find a way to close that gap.
