The Splendora Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Splendora will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
Last Tuesday, Splendora earned a 43-36 victory over Tarkington. That's two games straight that Splendora has won by exactly seven points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Splendora to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justin Kelley, who scored 15 points. The matchup was Kelley's 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydn McNeely, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
Hamshire-Fannett aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Tuesday extended their overall winning streak to four. They came out on top against Lumberton by a score of 57-50. Given Hamshire-Fannett's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while Lumberton is ranked 1157th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Splendora has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Hamshire-Fannett, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Splendora suffered a grim 61-41 defeat to Hamshire-Fannett when the teams last played back in February. Can Splendora avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
