The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northwest Rankin in their matchups with Clinton: they've now lost five in a row.
Taelar Felton was her usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with 8 steals and 6 assists for Clinton. The game was Felton's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jatoi Johnson, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds.
Northwest Rankin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Clinton, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Rankin will take on Morton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Morton will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Clinton, they will head out on the road to face off against Vicksburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vicksburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Clinton is ranked 33rd).
