The St. Patrick Fighting Irish had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against Bay by a score of 54-42. Given St. Patrick's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Bay is ranked 263rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Matt Krass was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of St. Patrick's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Triplett, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
St. Patrick is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
St. Patrick won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Jones at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. West Jones is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Bay will be home for the holidays to greet Pascagoula at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pascagoula is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
