Basketball Game Preview: Johnson-Brock Eagles vs. Southern Raiders

Johnson-Brock is 7-2 against Southern since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Johnson-Brock Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Southern Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Johnson-Brock will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Johnson-Brock is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Lourdes Central Catholic: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Johnson-Brock blew Lourdes Central Catholic out of the water with a 67-33 final score. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 24 points or more this season.

Johnson-Brock's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Brody Koehler, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 15 points, and Casen Dalinghaus, who went 6 for 13 en route to 15 points and five steals. Dalinghaus' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Austin Meyer, who posted nine points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southern). They enjoyed a cozy 75-56 win over Diller-Odell on Monday.

Johnson-Brock's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.9 points. As for Southern, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Everything went Johnson-Brock's way against Southern in their previous meeting on Friday, as Johnson-Brock made off with a 73-49 win. Does Johnson-Brock have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southern turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
