The David Posnack Jewish Day Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Calvary Christian Academy by a score of 57-54. David Posnack Jewish Day lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in January of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 58-26 score last time.
Despite the loss, David Posnack Jewish Day saw an underclassman step up: Natalie Sagranichne dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sagranichne has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Azafrani, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calvary Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Halle Jordan, who scored 18 points along with three steals and two blocks. Jordan continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Yates, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
David Posnack Jewish Day dropped their record down to 6-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-14.
David Posnack Jewish Day will square off against the Sharks at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Calvary Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th.
