The Ware Shoals Hornets won the last time they faced the Whitmire Wolverines, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Ware Shoals strolled past the Wolverines with points to spare, taking the game 36-22.
Leading Ware Shoals to victory were Tailynn Smith and Stella Eichorn. Smith scored ten points along with five rebounds, while Eichorn dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Eichorn is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games she's played.
Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trystan Samples, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Samples has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Babb, who scored nine points.
Ware Shoals' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Whitmire, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ware Shoals will take on the Blue Flashes at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun Falls Charter is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games. As for Whitmire, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m.
