The Mountain View Mountain Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 67-30 victory over Niwot. With that win, Mountain View brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.
Addison Branscum was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Ellis, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Despite the defeat, Niwot saw an underclassman step up: Ella Zechman scored six points along with two steals. Zechman's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight.
Niwot struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Mountain View pulled down 16 offensive rebounds.
The victory was the third in a row for Mountain View, bringing their record for this year to 8-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Niwot, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-10.
Mountain View won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Frederick at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Frederick will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Niwot, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Roosevelt at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. One thing working in Roosevelt's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 games.
