Softball Recap: North Posey Gets the Win

While North Posey's victory against Evansville Memorial wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Tigers on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Alyssa Heath made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Heath wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Lavanchy, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. Another was Taryn Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

North Posey's record now sits at 6-3. As for Evansville Memorial, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

North Posey has already played their next contest, a 17-1 win against Princeton on the 23rd. As for Evansville Memorial, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-1 victory against Evansville Bosse on the 23rd.
