Last Thursday, Cardinal O'Hara suffered a tough 82-60 loss at the hands of the Vikings. While losing is never fun, Cardinal O'Hara can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the Vikings are ranked 113th).
Cardinal O'Hara's loss came about despite a quality game from Gavin Johnson, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Kels Ivey, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Cardinal O'Hara smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past St. Francis 69-66. 69 seems to be a good number for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Cardinal O'Hara's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Cardinal O'Hara came up short against the Marauders in their previous matchup back in January, falling 44-39. Can Cardinal O'Hara avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
