The Foard Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 77-40 loss at the hands of Hickory. Foard was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-17.
Foard's loss came despite strong showings from Aiden Ollis and Carson Bess. Ollis scored 12 points, while Bess scored 13 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ollis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Herman, who scored seven points.
Hickory's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamien Little led the charge by scoring 12 points. Zane Krenzel was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Foard has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Hickory, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foard will take on St. Stephens at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Stephens is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Hickory, they will be playing at home against Statesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Statesville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Hickory is ranked 18th).
