The Colorado Academy Mustangs will challenge the Sterling Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sterling took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Colorado Academy, who comes in off a win.
Colorado Academy is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Eagle Ridge Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Colorado Academy blew Eagle Ridge Academy out of the water with a 53-23 final score. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Anna Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 14 boards. What's more, she also posted a 47% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Mira Leon was another key player, putting up five points.
Colorado Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They are 10-3 when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Sterling's good fortune finally ran out last Thursday. The contest between Sterling and Platte Valley didn't end well, with Sterling falling 47-31.
Colorado Academy will have to keep a close watch on Tatym Dempcy and Kali Graber, a pair of players who had a big impact on Sterling's prior game. Dempcy dropped a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds, while Graber posted eight points. That was a full 41.9% of Sterling's points, marking the third time in a row Dempcy has earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Mildenberger, who put up two points and five assists.
Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Colorado Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Colorado Academy has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Sterling struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.7 rebounds.
